Is it time to restart my windows life again? What are the items i should only be installing. Something has really fked me, i jhust hope it is not ransomware. if that removed the exe.īut i ran it fine and then quit it and then rebooted windows to check, and after goinfg in to the folder its gone. I notice though combofix might have re-enabled windows updates and maybe the windows defender (windows 7). Its random as i have several nicehashminer folders on my C and D drive and my desktop, but it seems the ones i use go missing. When i am in windows in regular mode though the hard drive still seems to be going mad, and i just tested it again by going in to my nicehashminer folder and the dam exe file is gone again. Not sure if those are better to be run in safe mode. I have run combofix, super anti spyware ccleaner l adwcleaner and junk removal tool. I have removed it but there might be something still loaded or running goodness gracious i dont know, and i have an IDE hard drive still so it carries on-and-on and it is very very very slow to scan - it will not stop grinding, i have no bloody applications open. I installed Awesome Miner, and i can only suspect that gave me this problem. I dont know if this is windows doing it (but it didnt before because i have been running the same setup for 4-5 weeks now. I can only assume nicehashminer.exe disappearing is from instaling AwesomeMiner, as i have not installed anything else or run any cracks or gone to any strange sites. So before you read there are alot of questions so i hope you can track them and answer them, thanks: ![]()

![]() I guess you could say Vendetta is a more fun experience that can get old rather quickly, while EVE is a more epic experience that can keep you hooked for years.įrom what I can gather from the Vendetta website the main difference I can see isn't the game mechanics but the fact that Vendetta only has a team of 4 behind it whereas Eve has a much larger team to drawn on, so I expect that eve proved more popular because the team could adapt the game faster than Vendetta's team could, giving Eve a leg up as it were on bug fixes and added content.Īlso as I remember Eve was released in a retail format as well as digital which would have allowed a greater number of people to be exposed to the game who normally would not has known either game existed. Vendetta provides you with the 'instant gratification' of controlling your own ship and just shooting shit, but that gratification can ware off rather quickly while EVE gives you this large player-driven world with literally endless possibilities. EVE's 'storyline' is the one that the players themselves create. The Harrower-Erickson Multiple Choice Rorschach Test was developed during World War II for the large scale screening of U.S. Because completing the Rorschach Test is time intensive and requires and psychologist trained in its usage, there have been many attempts to convert the Rorschach into an objective test for ease of use. In the test, the participant is shown a series of ten ink blot cards and directed to respond to each with what they see in the inkblot. It was inspired by the observation that schizophrenia patients often interpret the things they see in unusual ways. The open-ended nature of the test-simply telling the practitioner what the person sees-may reveal aspects of the subconscious that may not have been accessible otherwise. The Rorschach Test is a projective psychological test developed in 1921 by Hermann Rorschach to measure thought disorder for the purpose of identifying mental illness. However, proponents of the test argue that it is a valuable tool to elicit aspects of a person's identity. And despite efforts to standardize the test, there may still be differences in scoring and interpretation, rendering the results less reliable than other measures. The test seems to over-pathologize test-takers, finding higher rates of schizophrenia, depression, and narcissism than are typically found in the general population. Although there may be typical responses and idiosyncratic responses to the same blots, research suggests the Rorschach is not a valid instrument to test personality traits, predict behavior, or diagnose some disorders. Yet the test has still been critiqued on many fronts. They have developed standardized protocols to administer, score, and interpret the test. In response to criticism that the test is not a reliable assessment tool, psychologists have worked to improve and validate the Rorschach over time. The interpretation was originally designed to diagnose schizophrenia but today may aim to elicit insights about the subject’s personality, emotions, cognition, motivations, relationships, or mental health. ![]() For example, scoring criteria may include how common the response is, what part of the blot the subject focuses on, or if the person sees movement in the image. The subject’s responses are then recorded and interpreted according to standardized scoring systems. ![]() This process may occur repeatedly, to explore whether the subject perceives anything new the next time around. The practitioner asks the subject to describe what they see in the blot, such as animals or people. The Rorschach test is conducted by a practitioner who sits next to a subject and presents them with 10 images of symmetrical inkblots, one at a time. He died soon after the book was published, but others extended his work and broadened the inkblot test. He therefore used inkblots to create a diagnostic test for schizophrenia, which he wrote in his book Psychodiagnostik. Swiss psychoanalyst Hermann Rorschach formalized this idea through the inkblot test he created-he noticed that people with schizophrenia tended to perceive the images differently than did other individuals. Based on how your mind perceives the images, the test can accurately indicate your true personality type. Humans have long explored the idea of interpreting ambiguous designs. In the test, you are shown a series of ink blots. ![]() ![]() “Through this process, we can make the salt fully clean again and reuse it. “As we pulled out valuable elements, we found we could also remove oxygen and hydrogen,” Memmott said. Cobalt-60, gold, platinum, neodymium, and many other elements can also be taken out of the salt, resulting in potentially no nuclear waste. The United States currently buys all of its Molybdenum-99 from the Netherlands, but with this reactor it can easily be made within the country, making it much more accessible and affordable. Molybdenum-99, for example, is an extremely expensive element used in medical imaging procedures and scans that can be extracted. What’s more, many of these products are valuable, and can be removed from the salt and sold. The products of the reaction are safely contained within the salt, with no need to store them elsewhere. Once the salt crystalizes, the radiated heat will be absorbed into the salt (which doesn’t remelt), negating the danger of a nuclear meltdown at a power plant.Īnother benefit of the molten salt nuclear reactor design is that it has the potential to eliminate dangerous nuclear waste. However, salt has an extremely high melting temperature - 550☌ - and it doesn’t take long for the temperature of these elements in the salt to fall beneath the melting point. Nuclear elements can emit heat or radioactivity for hundreds of thousands of years while they slowly cool, which is why nuclear waste is so dangerous (and why in the past, finding a place to dispose of it has been so difficult). ![]() In Memmott’s new reactor, during and after the nuclear reaction occurs, all the radioactive byproducts are dissolved into molten salt. ![]() ![]() “It’s a very good solution to the energy situation we’re in because there are no emissions or pollution from it.” “Nuclear energy can be extremely safe and extremely affordable, if done the right way,” Memmott said. Memmott’s solution is to store these radioactive elements in molten salt instead of fuel rods. If there is not enough of a flow of cooling water, the rods can overheat, and the entire facility is at risk for a nuclear meltdown. They are kept in solid fuel rods, and water is run through the rods to keep everything cool enough. Uranium atoms are split to create energy, and the products left over will radiate massive amounts of heat. The standard nuclear reactor used in America is the Light-Water Reactor. Nearly 100 people died either in the accident or through radiation sickness in the years following.īYU professor and nuclear engineering expert Matthew Memmott and his colleagues have designed a new system for safer nuclear energy production: a molten salt micro-nuclear reactor that may solve all of these problems and more. The paper does close, however, with a discussion of how understanding qualitative calculus can support and link to the rate-related literature of slope, ratio and proportion. Although sharing a family resemblance with traditional expectations of what it might mean to learn calculus, qualitative calculus does not build from ratio- or proportion-based ideas of slope as they are typically associated with defining rate. In particular, the intensification of rate and two kinds of reversibility between what are called “how much” (amount) and “how fast” (rate) quantities are what interactively, and collectively, characterize and help to define understanding qualitative calculus. The central claim is that qualitative calculus is a cognitive structure in its own right and that qualitative calculus develops or evolves in ways that seem to fit with important general features of Piaget's analyses of the development of operational thought. The learning of qualitative calculus is the focus of the synthesis. ![]() ![]() The phrase “qualitative calculus” is introduced to frame the analysis of this “other” calculus.
